Our stay at Hotel Montecarlo was very pleasant. We stayed for four nights in January, in the annex building, which is a very short walk from the main hotel. It is important to note that there is no elevator in the annex building (there are two flights of stairs) and that the rooms are quite small, so big luggage is not recommended. As we were travelling light (two small suitcases and two backpacks), we had no issue. The room was always very clean and warm. It was cleaned daily, and the personal hygiene products were also changed daily. The pillows (four available) and mattress were soft and comfortable. There was a mini fridge in the room, with complimentary water bottles. The shower was very good, with great water pressure and hot water available. There was a towel warmer in the bathroom. There is a safe, but we didn't feel the need to use it. Access to the building and to the room was granted through a key card that we got during check-in. The entrance to the annex is next to the back of a restaurant, so there were always people around and dining, which added to the sense of security. The reception at the main hotel is available 24 hours a day. Our booking did not include breakfast, but we could have it for €15 a meal. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of options (fruits, bread, croissant, cheese, ham, pancakes, cheesecake, etc.). The location of the hotel is excellent - a two-minute walk from San Marco Piazza and a nine-minute walk from Rialto Bridge. We highly recommend the annex for those who are travelling light and don't mind a couple flights of stairs. We would definitely love to come back!

One of the most affordable, yet best hotels I've ever stayed in! Perfect for small parties of tourists who want a cosy retreat and comfortable rest after enjoying the city's offerings. Rooms: Accommodated a request for an easily accessible twin room with no issues, placing us right next to the elevator/lift and providing a small stool in the bathroom. Complimentary water bottles and a hot drink station were appreciated, as were all of the amenities from toiletries to a mini sewing kit. The decor was very fun, and everything was spotless - cleaning is offered every day, with options clean a little but to leave certain areas alone (bed sheets, towels, etc.) for guests and the environments benefit! Bed is very comfy, with 2 pillows per bed that were just neither hard nor too soft. Bathroom was spacious, shower was hot and had great pressure. Service: Staff were wonderful and available 24/7, with flawless language skills. Currency can be exchanged at the desk and bags can be left to explore more before leaving Venice for good. Breakfast (7-10am) is lovely - eggs, toast and some meat, croissants and cakes, yoghurt and fruit with both hot and cold drinks. Complimentary tea and coffee, with a selection of biscuits and cake, is offered 4pm-6pm. It was a much appreciated break between morning and evening exploring of the city! Location: Located 2 minutes away from St Mark's Basilica and Doge's Palace, or 7 minutes from Rialto Bridge, with lots of trinket shops and restaurants surrounding. For such a central area, our room was very quiet and we weren't disturbed.

The property is perfectly located, about 300 feet from St. Mark’s. It was easy to find, front desk assistance was great, and we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and afternoon coffee/tea. We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment, which was in an annex 1 block away from the hotel, but it was great. 1 bedroom, bathroom and kitchen with dining area downstairs and 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs. It was perfect for our family. The apartment contained a washer machine (no dryer, but drying rack provided). The kitchen was fully stocked with plates, pots, etc. Close to excellent restaurants and shopping. We would stay again and recommend it to family/friends.

We stayed in one of the apartments which is just around the corner from the main hotel. Perfect location right by St. Mark's Square. The apartment was clean, well equipped and felt safe. We booked a shared water taxi via the hotel in advance to get from and to the airport. This all ran very smoothly and was a great way to arrive and leave Venice. Reception was open 24hrs and every member of staff we met were very friendly and helpful. We booked the half-day sightseeing tour to Murano, Burano and Torcello at the hotel reception. This was our favourite part of the trip and only cost €25. Highly recommend.

Central location made it easy to walk any and everywhere we wanted to go. Lots of shops and restaurants minutes from the hotel. The hot breakfast was especially nice as it's been our experience that many hotels in Italy provide croissants and sweets for breakfast. Comfortable room that was quiet at night and the a/c was effective, an important thing in a city with such naturally high humidity.
